DCL Pest Control attended a property to carry out a full drainage and rodent investigation following concerns about potential rodent activity within the drainage system. Using specialist CCTV equipment, we conducted a detailed inspection of the pipework to identify any signs of rodent access and locate possible entry points.
Evidence of Rodent Activity Found
During the survey, we discovered insulation material within the drainage system, a strong indicator that rodents had been using the drains as a route into the property.
While carrying out the CCTV inspection, we also identified active rodent activity within the drainage network, confirming the need for immediate preventative measures.
Works Completed
To eliminate the access route and prevent future rodent entry, we completed the following works:
- Sealed off a redundant pipe connection that could be used as an entry point
- Installed a new heavy-duty rat gate within the drainage system
- Carried out a full CCTV inspection to assess the condition of the drains and identify vulnerabilities
The rat gate now acts as a barrier, preventing rodents from travelling through the drainage system while allowing normal wastewater flow.
Long-Term Rodent Prevention
By identifying the source of the problem and securing the drainage system, we helped protect the property against future rodent infestations. This project highlights the importance of professional drainage investigations when dealing with recurring rat problems.
DCL Pest Control specialises in rodent investigations, CCTV drain surveys, rat gate installations, and long-term rodent prevention solutions.
