What Different Smells Can Mean
A strong, persistent ammonia like smell is a common sign of rodent urine. This odour can build up in enclosed spaces such as cupboards, wall cavities, lofts and under stairs. As an infestation worsens, the smell can become noticeable throughout the property.
In some cases, unpleasant odours are caused by decomposing rodents following poisoning or natural death, which can linger if the source is hidden inside a wall or void.
