Preventing Rodents from Entering the Property
DCL Pest Control attended a property in Hook experiencing rodent issues linked to the main sewer line. Rats were travelling through the drainage system and attempting to gain access to the property through underground pipework.
To prevent further rodent activity, we prepared the drainage system for the installation of specialist rat flaps designed to stop rats from entering from the main sewer connection.
Drainage Protection and Blockage Prevention
During the works, we also identified rubble and debris within the drainage line that could contribute to blockages and restricted flow. Rodents often exploit damaged or obstructed drainage systems, making preventative maintenance essential for long-term pest control.
The drainage line was prepared to ensure the rat flap installation would provide effective protection against future rodent access.
Long-Term Rat Prevention Solution
Rat flaps create a one-way barrier within the drainage system, allowing wastewater to flow normally while preventing rats from travelling upstream into the property.
By installing rat flaps and addressing drainage issues early, we helped protect the property against future infestations and reduce the risk of drainage blockages caused by debris entering the line.
DCL Pest Control specialises in rodent investigations, drainage protection, and long-term rat prevention solutions for homes and businesses across Hook and the surrounding areas.
