Severe Rodent Activity Identified

DCL Pest Control attended a property after the client reported ongoing rat activity inside the home and drainage system. Our inspection quickly confirmed a well-established rodent presence, with large amounts of droppings discovered beneath internal pipework.

We also carried out an external survey and identified multiple access points around the drainage system and brickwork that were allowing rats to move between the drains and the property.

Drainage Investigation & Access Points

We completed a full drainage investigation to trace rodent movement and pinpoint how the rats were entering the property. Inside the chamber, we found debris build-up and clear signs of rodent activity within the drainage line.

Our inspection revealed several vulnerable areas around pipe entries and external brickwork that rats had used to gain access. We also recovered a rat from within the drainage system, confirming active movement through the pipework.

Rat Proofing & Prevention

To resolve the issue and stop future infestations, we carried out targeted proofing and drainage protection works. We sealed all identified entry points and installed a specialist rat prevention device within the drainage line to stop rodents from travelling back into the system.

We then cleared and cleaned the drainage run thoroughly to remove debris and improve flow, reducing the risk of further pest activity.

Long-Term Protection in Place

With all access points sealed and preventative measures installed, the property is now protected against further rodent entry through the drainage system. This project highlights how hidden drainage faults and structural gaps can quickly lead to serious rat problems if not professionally addressed.

DCL Pest Control provides specialist rodent investigation, drainage inspection, and long-term rat-proofing solutions to ensure properties remain secure and pest-free.
