Issue Identified
DCL Pest Control attended a property in Church Crookham following reports of rodent activity within the home. During our inspection, we quickly identified a chewed pan connector behind the toilet, which had been damaged by rats.
This type of damage creates a direct entry point from the drainage system into the property, allowing rodents to access internal areas unnoticed.
Investigation Findings
Further inspection revealed clear signs of rodent presence within the pipework, including droppings and debris. The damaged pan connector had weakened the seal between the toilet and the drainage system, making it an easy access route for rats travelling through the drains.
Issues like this are a common cause of ongoing infestations, particularly in domestic properties.
Pest Control Solution
We advised replacing the damaged pan connector and securing the drainage system to prevent further rodent access. In cases like this, additional preventative measures such as rat gates may also be recommended to stop rats from entering the system in the first place.
